These Lead Ropes come in 10′, 12′, and 14′ long and made with 9/16″ Premium Double Braid Polyester rope (aka Yacht Rope). They come with a spliced loop on one end to attach a clasp of your choice (Clasp NOT included) or attach directly to the halter. The other end has a popper made of quality latigo leather. The Popper end is spliced as well, which makes it naturally weighted. Both ends of the rope are spliced by hand and not melted so they won’t fray or pull apart. All of our products are hand tied and spliced in the USA by Big Sky Tack & Snacks. Double braid polyester is the best quality equestrian rope on the market. Polyester is UV, rot, stretch, stain and abrasion resistant. Famous trainers around the world use and endorse this type of rope as well. You get the quality of the professionals at an affordable price. Other leads may be listed as “poly” rope but that does not mean they are polyester. Most are Polypropylene which is a lower quality rope. Do a search to compare them and you will see a huge difference. As the saying goes “You get what you pay for.” This rope is washable and strong yet has a great feel in your hand. It’s not too soft and not too stiff. Estimated average tensile strength 8,000 lbs. Note: We do not include a clasp because some buyers choose to attach the lead to the halter directly without a clasp and others have a preference of what type of clasp they like and dislike. We can’t seem to satisfy everyone, so we let you purchase your favorite clasp elsewhere and attach it if you so choose.
